What started out as a rather boring photograph of a woman holding a doughnut has been transformed into a nightmarish blend of misused Photoshop filters.
I understand that not everyone has mastered Photoshop, or any other image editing suite for that matter, but before one starts attempting to enhance or manipulate images, they should at least have some sense of what looks good and what doesn't.
Photoshop, along with other image editors, have vast amounts of filters available, and the right filter, applied in just the right way, to just the right image, can achieve an interesting effect to an otherwise bland work. However the improper use of filters can make the artist seem like they have utterly no taste or sense of good design.
The latter would be the case with this creation. Applying a series of over used filters doesn't do anything for this picture. Whilst it may have been salvageable beforehand, that's most certainly not the case now.
This will slowly slip into a sea of overused filters, and be ridiculed by those with a sense of good design, or taste.
You're kinda cranky. Do you need a blow job or something?
I wouldn't say I'm cranky, I'm actually quite a happy person. I've just been working with Photoshop for over a decade. I've worked on many projects, and have a pretty solid grasp of good design. You requested critique on a piece that is sub-standard, and I gave it. I just hate seeing design nightmares.
